Mother of boy hit by KWS van appeals for help

The family of a 10-year-old boy injured when he was hit by a Kenya Wildlife Services vehicle in Taita Taveta last month have appealed for help to settle his Sh7,000 hospital bill. Julius Mwamburi and his younger brother were injured when they were hit by the KWS vehicle at Maungu and were both taken to Moi Hospital in Voi.
Mwamburi's leg was broken in the accident while his brother was treated and discharged three days. Mother Elizabeth Mwamburi said the hospital stopped treating her son after she told them she could no longer afford to pay for his treatment. Her son's leg is now swollen due to lack of medical attention and she is afraid it might be cut off. The assistant director in charge of the Tsavo conservancy Julius Kimani said the KWS had an agreement with the hospital management  to clear the whole bill once the child recovers. "We have been assisting the woman in her upkeep at the hospital and we have agreed on humanitarian grounds that we shall pay the bill. Allegations that we have refused to pay the bill are therefore false,"said Kimani.

  1. The lady is 28, a single parent, anaitwa Elizabeth Mwamburi. ANAHITAJI MSAADA WAPENDWA!

  2. Poleni kwa accident, Msaada Itoke kwa KWS. What are our Taita county members of parliament doing not fighting for Taita rights of a boy injuired by KWS car. What about the insuarance for people hurt in public it should cover both physical and pychological injuries we should have lawyers who take cases for the poor.
